On Saturday, October 22, the Home Design Committee of The New York Junior League hosted the 17th Annual Fall House Tour.
The event showcased seven prestigious and luxurious residences in New York City. From the Upper East Side down to Tribeca the homes were mainly those of interior designers. It is a brilliant way for designers to show off their expertise. I for one am now thinking I could use an interior designer to help me bring my apartment to the next level!
The event was an all-day affair which included breakfast at The New York Junior League; a buffet lunch in the GE Monogram, Miele and Sub-Zero/Wolf room at the Architects & Designers Building in Mid-town Manhattan; a cocktail reception sponsored by The New Traditionalists; and of course the self guided homes tour.
My personal favorite homes were those of Debora French of Deborah French Designs and Nina Barnieh-Blair of NinaBDesign. Both were loft spaces with a sense of warmth and color.
I really enjoyed the event and am looking forward to when the committee does it all again in the spring. May 3, 2012 is the tentative date for the New York Junior League Spring House Tour and I’ll for sure be there!
As with all New York Junior League events, this was a charitable event raising money for programs sponsored by The New York Junior League. Hosting a Homes Tour is a great way to raise funds for a cause in a creative and inspired way.
