New and fun ways to send out invitations online
Years ago I received my first Evite. The invitation was fun and new and made online RSVPs easy to manage. My friends and I were hooked! But, at the same time Evite wasn’t sophisticated, elegant or professional. Now, 10 years later there are a number of e-card companies out there that take online invitations to the next level.
Online invitations have come a long way in 10 years. Here are a couple companies that I have used recently and recommend.
1) Paperless Post: The invites are elegant and the process is simple. I’ve used Paperless Post for my holiday party, housewarming and charity cocktail party. I pick the card I want and can customize the font. Paperless Post provides sample text I can use as a guide. It costs 5 cents per “stamp” to send ad-free cards. The monitoring is so simple and I can print RSVP reports.
2) Punchbowl: Amazed at how easy it is. I just used this site to plan a potluck picnic on my roof for 40 women I volunteer with. I picked the invite, filled out the details and they have a potluck option! I can pick how many of each item I want and when people RSVP they can assign themselves an item. No longer do I have to keep a list of who is bringing what and this eliminates those people who say “tell me closer to the event and I’ll bring what you need.” If you don’t want ads with your invite you need to pay for a membership. I have to say, the ads aren’t bad. Big fan!
