Junior League Bags and Bubbles: The Ultimate Girls’ Night Out

Fundraiser Ideas – Non-Profit Fundraising, Event Recap

At the third annual New York Junior League Bags and Bubbles fundraising event, over 500 fashionable ladies bid on more than 150 new and vintage designer handbags, sipped Domaine Carneros by Taittinger champagne, and enjoyed delicious sweets from Renaissance Confections.

Celebrities in attendance included designer Ruthie Davis and Real Housewife Ramona Singer.

Guests bid via a silent auction (using BidPals) on new and vintage handbags from designers including Carlos Falchi, Carson Bag, Catherine Malandrino, Cleo and Patek, Coach, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Givenchy, Gucci, Liberty of London, Louis Vuitton, Milli Millu, Miu Miu, Prada, Rebecca Taylor, Ruthie Davis, Tiffany & Co., Tory Burch and more!

VIP ticket-holders gained access an hour early for the first opportunity to bid and had exclusive access to the Beauty Bar, a beauty and party destination. Warren-Tricomi makeup artists and stylists – including the incredibly talented Justin Hissey – made over guests. Celebrity stylist Jill Hammelman, celebrity eyebrow shaper Ramy Gafni, Sadick Dermatology, and Equinox also provided free services. VIPs left the event with a special gift bag valued at over $800.

The dynamic design team of Reform-Creative transformed the New York Junior League headquarters for the event. The décor ideas they incorporated brought a contemporary-vintage feel to the event.

Proceeds benefited the Women’s Cancer Prevention program, which works with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) to educate the underserved and at-risk communities, particularly women, about cancer prevention.

Cynthia Greenberg

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t helping out with a fundraiser or planning a party, whether it was charity leagues in junior high school or fundraisers in high school. I pursued marketing in college as I loved how many exciting roles were covered under one umbrella. It opened the door for me to pursue PR, communications and events. I found a career that is the perfect balance of exactly who I am – creative and detailed. As a public relations and marketing/communications executive with over 15 years of experience, event planning has been at the core of much of my work. I’ve planned everything from a 2,000 person corporate gala to company retreats, charitable auctions and intimate cocktail parties. Event planning is a passion. When I’m not working my day-job as the head of PR/communications, I dedicate my time to the New York Junior League as well as other charitable organizations. (For my full bio, please see LinkedIn.)
